August 15: Today I went to the cemetery to visit my uncle's grave. It's always so depressing, he's buried in a huge mausoleum, and I get such a creepy feeling whenever I go there. But my grandmother insists that we must go every year to pay our respects.

When I was 18 I said I didn't want to go anymore. That was when she told me that I would be disinherited if I didn't, so I have to go. My grandmother is so boring, I mean, last night she asked me if I had found a "suitable" young man yet. Nobody is ever suitable enough for her!

My birthday is in a few weeks. That is when I "come of age", so my lawyer will finally read me the last will and testament of my uncle. Then I won't have to go to Père Lachaise cemetery and get that creepy feeling anymore.

August 17: I had a nightmare last night. It was about my uncle the Duke. It was the same dream I had the day the Duke died. I was 16 years old and I didn't really know him that well. But that night I dreamed that I was in a dark round room with a glass ceiling, and no matter what I did, I couldn't get out. I screamed and yelled for help, but nobody came, then all of the sudden there was a flash of light from above and the next thing I knew, I was back in my bedroom. I woke up and I couldn't go back to sleep for the rest of the night.

August 24: Today was my last day at work. Tomorrow we leave to go on vacation for the rest of the Summer. I'm going to spend a week at the beach with my parents, then I go to the South of France with my best friend for two weeks. August is the best month of the year!
